MARK OF THOMAS JOHNSTON, DUBLIN, 1761
Pear-shaped and on domed foot with beaded border and chased rocaille, the body chased overall with panels of Chinese figures in landscapes within elaborate foliate scrolls populated with birds, animals and architectural motifs on a textured ground, with a beaded beak form spout, later engraved with a crest, marked near handle and on cover bezel, the base further engraved with a scratchweight '26=10'
