A fine celebration of the French 75mm artillery piece, one of the most important artillery developments in the 20th century. Model of 1897, the "75" featured a revolutionary recoil system and was used by both French and American forces in the First World War. Harry S. Truman commanded a battery of them. Included are illustrations of the gun being set up and fired, and a full-color frontispiece which features colored overslips on tabs to see the workings of the gun.
