The case inlaid with bands on claw feet, bombé plinth, shaped lenticle with a figure of Father Time to the shaped trunk door, arched hood with foliate bracket and pierced frieze and side frets, caddy top with a figure of Father Time, Atlas and herald figures, the arched dial with silvered chapter ring signed Rutgerus van Meurs Amsterdam and with roman and arabic numerals, the matted centre with subsidiary seconds, date aperture, month and weekday sectors and moonphase, the dial painted with mythological figures and two cherubs flanking an automaton with ships, the eight day four pillar movement with rack strike on two bells and playing four airs on a 13cm. long brass cylinder and twelve bells, part 18th Century
