ON FINE PARCHMENT, paper seal at upper left corner, Franklin's signature below the seal, text accomplished in clerical hand, stain along right edge half of center crease, well away from the signature, folded. A Land grant awarded to Margaret Griffiths, widow of Lt. Benjamin Griffiths, granting her 200 acres of land in Westmoreland County. Franklin signs this grant the same year that he joined with his fellow Framers in drafting the nation's new Constitution.
