The elderly figure of the Theologian in a contrapostal stance, receiving the words of God and reciting them to his disciple, the saint's Apocalyptic personification, the Eagle, hovering next to him, to the left a monastery, the sea beyond the two rocky cliffs standing for the Aegean, an image of the Mandylion above, the composition finely painted, mainly with complimentary greens and reds
