TWO SILVER MINIATURE TRAVELLING TRIPTYCHS
RUSSIAN, THE FIRST: MAKER'S MARK I.M. IN CYRILLIC, DATED 17 MARCH 1905; THE SECOND: MAKER'S MARK I.E. IN CYRILLIC, 1896-1908
The first with the engraved figures of Christ and the apostles Peter and Paul, the closed wings decorated in the Art Nouveau style and inscribed with an extensive dedication; the second triptych displaying the Kazanskaya flanked by Sts. George and Nicholas, the clasp in the form of a strigilated column, the inscription on the back: Mother of God Save Us
Each triptych extended: 2 1/8 x 3¼ in. (5.4 x 8.3 cm) and 1 5/8 x 2½ in. (4.1 x 6.4 cm) respectively (2)
