A MASSIVE CELADON JADE BOULDER
QING DYANSTY, 18TH CENTURY

The columnar boulder is modelled as a rugged rocky mountain, opening at the mid-distance to reveal a deer with its head turned towards Shoulao holding a staff standing in front of two cranes on a winding balustraded mountain pass, the boulder is further detailed with a waterfall emptying into breaking waves below at the base, the rocky crevices variously interspersed with gnarled pine trees and lingzhi fungus
