De forme circulaire, chacun des rafraîchissoirs orné de gerbes fleuries et bouquets, alternant avec les armes françaises de Noël Danycan de L'Espine (St Malo 1658 - Paris 1734), explorateur, directeur de la Compagnie des Mers du Sud, l'un des plus riches armateurs français au début du XVIIIème siècle, nommé chevalier de l'Ordre de Saint-Michel en 1706, les anses en forme de coquillages, la bordure légèrement renflée agrémentée d'une frise de cartouches et chrysanthèmes réservés sur fond de motifs losangés ; restauration et fêles sur l'un

Lot Essay

The arms are those of Noël Danycan de l'Espine (St Malo 1658 - Paris 1734), explorer, director of the Southern Seas Company. In the early 18th century, he was one of the richest French ship owners. He was appointed 'Chevalier de l'Ordre de Saint Michel' in 1706.
