A FINE DOUCAI 'ANBAXIAN' OGEE DISH
QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEALMARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)

Painted and enamelled to the sunken interior medallion with a full-faced flower-head encircled by four peaches and stylised lotus-blossom scrolls, the rounded flaring rim with the Eight Daoist Emblems, anbaxian, tied to flower sprays with fluttering ribbons, the exterior with exotic blooms on a foliate scroll above a band of colourful ruyi heads around the foot

A Qianlong dish of this pattern was included in Ch'ing Polychrome Porcelain, The Oriental Ceramic Society of Hong Kong, 1977, and illustrated in the Catalogue, no. 83.
