The handle is well carved as the head of a horse, with its mouth slightly open revealing teeth and the eyes inlaid with rubies, its mane finely carved to one side of its curved neck, the base of the long neck carved terminating with splayed acanthus leaves flanking pendant flower sprays inlaid with gold leaf and inset with further semi-precious stones, the stone of even celadon tone
