Indistinct maker's mark, Moscow, 1868
Of tapering cylindrical form, the reeded body with central band nielloed with foliate arabesques in the Old Russian style, centering roundels with views of the Moscow Kremlin and St. Basil's Cathedral, the front applied with a bronze medal with the Cyrillic inscription 'Emperor Alexander III, Emperor Nicholas II' and depicting the busts of the Emperors, with scroll handle and thumb-piece, the hinged lid with wavy border and conforming decoration, fully marked
