A waterline travel agent's model of the S.S. Independence
Art Model Studios; circa 1951
in wood, with a painted red waterline, black and white topsides, portholes, and anchors on the hull. The deck are of buff painted veneer and detailed with: ventilators, capstans, deck structures, bridge and bridge wings, cargo booms and masts, main mast, funnels painted in American Export Lines livery, life boats on davits, deck railings, pools and other details. The model is displayed on a painted blue board.
