A French rouge griotte marble and patinated bronze eight day striking novelty compendium clock in the form of a locomotive
Circa 1880
The realistically modelled case with marble top and base with brass plinth, the steam engine with the clock dial set into the boiler now with card chapter ring over original silvered chapter ring, with blued steel hands, barometer dial above and thermometer set into the funnel, flanked by mercurial and alcohol thermometers, the movement with replaced platform lever escapement and strike on bell to back plate stamped 2517
