BOX: three tier brass-bound mahogany with drop-down side handles, vacant brass cartouche to the top and vacant mother of pearl roundel to the front, brass gimbal and bowl, convex glass to brass bezel; case key--145 mm. square
DIAL: silvered Roman and Arabic dial with 56 hour up/down ring at XII and subsidiary seconds at VI and signed Rich. Hornby Liverpool/No.705, gold main hands and blued steel subsidiary hands--85 mm. diameter
MOVEMENT: spot-finished plates, single chain fusee with maintaining power, Earnshaw-type escapement with cut bi-metallic balance with cylindrical temperature compensation weights, polished steel helical balance spring; tipsy winding key
