James Rippin is recorded working in Spalding 1868-1876. Roberts (p.114) states that there are several skeleton clocks known by him, all of which have unusual egg-shaped frames and dead beat escapements with maintaining power. There is a striking skeleton clock by Rippin illustrated in Roberts (p.114, fig).
