The step-moulded case with brass lions head side handles, fine turned finials to the front angles, surmounted by orrery under shallow glass dome and driven by horizontally mounted shaft from the hour wheel, with 24 hour paper dial inscribed Uranographe STROESSER au planetaire/PLANETARIUM STROESSERS-URANOGRAPH/Patenté, Bréveté Dépose en Belgique, France, Allemagne, Angleterre etc.etc. and centred by revolving gilt-brass sun and blued steel pointer, outer year calendar chapter with rotating terrestrial globe with ten coloured paper gores (one damaged) and blue painted moon, the white enamel Roman clock dial with painted centre, blued steel Breguet hands, twin barrels movement with anchor escapement and countwheel strike on gong; pendulum
