The case with step moulded pediment, glazed thermometer and bone Vernier setting key to the trunk, the urn-shaped cistern cover flanked by ebony inlaid canted angles, bowed glass to engraved silvered register plate with sliding Vernier scale and signed John Zenone Edinburgh; replaced tube, mercury removed
