A comparable chair with the same basic outline but slightly more refined finish is illustrated in R. Baarsen et al. Rococo in Nederland, cat.no. 169, pp. 271-272. Unlike many other Dutch chairs this is a purely Dutch design with no direct French or English influences but rather a mix of both.
