A Chinese blue and white circular tureen and cover and two dishes
Kangxi (1662-1722) and Qianlong (1736-1795)
The tureen of compressed bulbous circular form, painted with panels of river-landscapes alternated with peony-sprays, the shaped cover with four triangular panels of peony and chrysanthemum, 20.4 cm. diam.; a dish painted to the large central roundel with peach blossom issuing from rockwork, the wavy rim decorated with dense flower-sprays, the reverse with six character Kangxi mark and of the period, 36 cm. diam.; and a deep plate painted with a willow issuing from a rockwork near a lotus-pond, a geometrical-pattern border at the rim, 25.5 cm. diam., chips and cracks (3)
