Painted in underglaze blue, iron-red and gilt, the central roundel with a tripod vase with swing handle containing flowering peony, the well and rim with alternating panels of stylised chrysanthemum- and peony-heads on a blue ground and a chicken beside a cockerel on a fenced terrace
