Of globular form with short cylindrical neck and loop handle, covered in a lustrous mottled brown glaze, the hinged mounts engraved with stylised strapwork with the conjoined initials 'ME', the domed cover similarly engraved and with a central medallion engraved with the initials 'I.T/ME', and with cast poppy and dolphin thumbpiece, the handle encased in silver-gilt with a spade-shaped terminal engraved with similar foliate strapwork and edged in zig-zag ornament, the foot with foliage, ovolo and X-ornament, one cast poppy head lacking to thumbpiece, marked on cover only
