A pattern for a related Bedroom apartment Breakfast Table, with hinged candle-flaps, frieze drawer and crossed stretcher-tray for ewer and basin featured in Thomas Chippendale's The Gentleman and Cabinet-Makers Director, 1754 (pl.33). The contemporary label of the Clerkenwell cabinet-makers Richard and William Gomm has also been recorded on a related castor-fitted table, with square pilaster rather turned pillar legs (C. Gilbert, Pictorial Dictionary of Marked London Furniture, Leeds, 1996, p.226 figs. 401 and 402).
