CIRCA 1800, YORKSHIRE OR STAFFORDSHIRE
Finely modelled and standing to left and right, each with their tail arched over their flank, the lion with his left forepaw resting on a blue sphere, the lioness with her right forepaw on a similar sphere, their ochre bodies with brown manes and tufts to their tails and with dark brown claws, their finely dimpled muzzles each with an open jaw revealing teeth and a yellow tongue, each on a green-washed rectangular base moulded with stylised foliage, lioness with tail restored, both with tongues restored, both with very slight chipping to bases
