Lot Essay

A strikingly similar example is illustrated in Frank Britton, English Delftware in the Bristol Collection, London, 1982, p. 56, no. 3.18. Interestingly three related dishes are known where the central flower is replaced with a dated medallion ranging in date between 1663 and 1675.
