Lot Essay

The Rolling Stones played a concert at the ABC cinema in Wigan on 16 September, 1964. The manager of the cinema was a friend of the vendor's Father and, knowing that she was a huge fan of the Rolling Stones, asked her to do an individual portrait of each band member. The portraits were duly completed, and the vendor was invited into the band's dressing room for the pictures to be signed and for her photograph to be taken with them.
