Lot Essay
In 1975, New York's underground "Punk" magazine gave a collective name to the disparate new rock groups that were playing in the city. The night advertised on this flyer gave birth to the Mudd Club, a notorious counter-cultural nightclub that became synonymous with new and cult Manhattan celebrities, including Jean-Michel Basquiat and a young Madonna.
