During the filming of The Magical Mystery Tour, the Beatles made an unexpected detour to Plymouth and arrived at the Grand Hotel mid-afternoon on Tuesday, 12 September, 1967. The vendor, who was the hotel's assistant manager at the time, was asked if an early evening meal was possible for the Beatles and their entourage. With the help of a few off duty live-in staff, he duly obliged and obtained these signatures whilst the Beatles were dining.
