Originally from Badaloj near Barcelona in Spain, Adelardo Covarsi's work and life is closely connected to his birth place. His works focus mostly on local characters and landscapes in a realistic and truthful style. In 1903 Covarsi enrolled in the Escuela Especial de Pintura, Escultura y Dibujo of Madrid and complemented his artistic education with visits to Italy, France, England and Portugal. After finishing his training he returned to Badaloj where he became director of the School of Fine Arts. In 1948 he received an honorary medal from the Spanich government in recognition of his artistic achievements.
