Details
Lying in Weybridge, Surrey (EHD)
Offered in original wooden cases unless otherwise stated
Château Lynch-Bages--Vintage 1970
Pauillac, 5me cru classé
Bin-soiled labels. Levels: seven top, four upper and one mid/upper-shoulder
Not in original wooden case
Tasting Note: The 1970 is an old style Lynch Bages with plenty of dry tannin in the finish. Compellingly aromatic, it offers aromas of cedar wood, spice box, tobacco, earth, blackcurrants, and new saddle leather. Spicy, concentrated, and burly, with mouth-searing tannin, this big, thick wine is a terrific example of Lynch Bages made in an older style. Robert Parker, Wine Advocate 129, June 2000.
