THIRD QUARTER 19TH CENTURY
Each with part-reeded upswept foliate shaft, the central pierced corona with upsept leaf motif issuing sixteen acanthus-wrapped S-shaped branches surmounted with turned nozzles and foliate-cut glass drip-pans, hung with swags of faceted drops, surmounted by a further tier consisting of addorsed griffins centred by fruited urns and flanked by pierced trophies below a tier of eight further nozzles with conforming cut-glass drip-pans, the upper section with a pierced corona with lion heads flanked by scrolling foliage and palmette motifs, surmounted by lotus leaves below upswept palmettes, issuing chains of faceted beads, the lower section terminating with a reeded foliate sphere boss

These chandeliers were almost certainly hung in the salone of a Milanese Palazzo when this was refurbished in the third quarter of the 19th century.
