Engraved with the insignia of the Royal Yacht on an applied shield-shaped cartouche, ceramic liner and swing handle, the cover inscribed, 'Presented to the officers of the Royal Yacht by Sub Lieut. J.W.L. McClintock, N.H. Hodges, C.D.S. Raikes, August 1895'

Lot Essay

This biscuit barrel was presented to the Officers of Her Majesty's Yacht Victoria and Albert II. The Royal Yacht was launched in 1855 and was decommissioned in 1900.
