the complete volume of letterpress text and lithographic illustrations in colors, title page, text in German and justification, on wove paper, from the edition of 2000 (there were intended editions of 300 in both English and Russian never published), bound (as issued), soft creases to a few sheet corners, otherwise in very good condition, original black boards with letterpress cover design in red and blue (minor wear and slight splitting at the edges). 9 5/8 x 10 in. (245 x 254 mm.)

This manifesto, with contributions from many of the now-legendary faculty of the formative school, summarizes the revolutionary ideas that gave rise to the International style. It was published to accompany an exhibition of artwork and design in Weimar from August 15 through September 9, 1923. Typography and layout by Lazlo Moholy-Nagy and cover design by Herbert Bayer.
