London: [Valentine Simmes] for Humfrey Lownes, 1595. 3 parts in one volume, 4°, two part titles, numerous woodcut armorials in part three, some with manuscript attributions, with blanks L3 and L4 (lacks initial leaf, blank except for signature 'A', and the final blank, quire A rehinged, other neat repairs, some running titles shaved), old limp vellum (recased, new free endpapers, new ties). Provenance: cropped ownership signature on title -- Rogers Ruding (armorial bookplate).
Markham's epitome of the Book of St. Albans, revised from the first edition of 1486, was one of the earliest works to bear his name. It was never republished. Schwerdt II, p. 12; Souhart 49; STC 3314.
