Oblong 2° (295 x 425mm. with margins, actual plate size 170 x 237mm), a series of six aquatint plates comprising: Chasse aux Becassines; Le Départ des Chasseurs; Le Repose des Chasseurs; La Chasse au Faisant; Chasse aux Perdrix; Chasse à la Becasse, by Catton and Alix after G. Morland, G. Stubbs, and J. Ibbetson (margins spotted), uncut in later half vellum and blue marbled boards, cover with morocco title label: "Sujets de Chasse .... " Provenance: C.F.G.R. Schwerdt (bookplate).
SCHWERDT COPY OF THIS RARE SERIES OF SIX SHOOTING PLATES, described in his catalogue as "fine impressions, with large untrimmed margins". Apparently issued without title which is here taken from the binding. Schwerdt III, p. 48.
