A bronze figure of Parvati
South India, Chola period, 12th/13th century
Finely cast in tribhanga over a circular lotus base, her right hand raised and her left extended along her hip, clad in a long dhoti with incised floral pattern and tied at her waist with a sash falling down the sides of her legs, her upper torso adorned with necklaces and her arms with armlets and bracelets, her smiling face flanked by elongated earlobes and surmounted by a high conical headdress
