The festival of Annakuta, also known as Govardhana Puja, is celebrated during the month of Kartika (between October and November), on the day after Diwali. During this festival, devotees offer an enormous quantity of prasada (blessed food) to Govardhan Hill, and models of the mountain are made from cow dung.
