A small gilt bronze figure of Bhaishajyaguru
Tibet, 16th century
Finely cast seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with beaded rims, holding the medicinal fruit in his extended right hand and the alms bowl in his left, wearing a diaphanous sanghati with beaded hems falling in delicate pleats at his ankles, his face with a serene expression with downcast eyes and a raised urna centered on his brow, flanked to either side with elongated pierced earlobes, his hair in tight curls rising over the ushnisha topped with a golden knop
