With shallow rounded sides, the slightly convex center decorated with a central flower head surrounded by lotus scroll repeated in the well, all in blue, red, yellow, white and green reserved on a turquoise ground, the exterior gilded
6¼ in. (16 cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

The decoration on this dish appears to have been inspired by that found on earlier cloisonné dishes, such as the 15th century example illustrated by H. Brinker and A. Lutz, Chinese Cloisonné: The Pierre Uldry Collection, The Asia Society Galleries, New York, 1989, no. 14.
