Shown standing atop a cloud base, her clasped hands hidden within the folds of her long sleeves, with a ruyi necklace spanning the chest above her sash-tied dhoti, the hair drawn back behind a diadem set with Buddha seated on a lotus base and covered with a cowl, the face with a gentle expression, covered overall with a glaze of bluish tone

Lot Essay

A similar, though slightly larger (20 in. high), early 17th century blanc-de-chine figure of Guanyin formerly in The Koger Collection, shown standing on a base of crashing waves, bearing the seal of He Chaozong, is illustrated by J.
