With shallow rounded sides, each painted on the interior with a different fruiting and flowering branch, one a peach branch with blue roses at the base, the other pomegranate with asters, each beside a poem written in black with an iron-red seal, with gilt highlights, base with a seal mark, yuan, in underglaze blue within a double circle

The couplets appearing on the current lot have been taken from Tang dynasty poems, and may be translated as follows:
The color of the dew reflects on the curtains
The fragrant wind is hiding the walls
Pomegranate

Returning the graces to the hunting gardens
May the emperor live for a thousand years
Peach blossom

The couplets on both dishes are followed by the same seal, yuan, which also appears on the base.
