A RARE GEORGE III SILVER EGG CODDLER
MARK OF ALEXANDER FIELD, LONDON, 1804
Oval with double-hinged cover and ivory handle, engraved to front with crest of a demi-lion rampant below a seven pearl coronet, the interior containing a silver frame to hold two eggs, the base pierced with scrolls and crosslets for straining and capped by an ivory finial, the oval two-handled warming base with fretwork-pierced sides and reeded borders, with centrally fitted, detachable spirit lamp and raised on four part-fluted bracket feet
