The kidney-shaped top surmounted to each side by a raised concave compartment panelled in cube-parquetry and with pierced acanthus surround, one fitted with a long-drawer and the other with two short-drawers above two pigeon holes, with a gilt-tooled brown leather writing surface between, the panelled frieze set with pierced acanthus-trail mounts and fronted by two button-release drawers, on four tapering legs hung with ribbon-tied foliate swags joined by a demi lune stretcher with acanthus and pomegranate mount, on stiff-leaf sabots, the lock stamped CT LINKE/SERRURERIE/PARIS
