In 1945 the Cruse family took over the château and have spent a considerable amount on restoring the property to its former glory. Emmanuel Cruse has managed the estate since 1997 assisted by oenologist, Monsieur Jacques Boissenot. The property has 30 hectares in the Margaux appellation, and also 11 hectares of Haut-Médoc which is bottled under the label Château de Candale, and also another 11 hectares of Bordeaux Supérieur which is labeled Moulin d'Issan. The soils are predominantly gravel and clay and yields average about 45 hectolitres per hectare from 70 Cabernet Sauvignon and 30 Merlot with an average age of 35 years. A new chai was built in 1999 which increased the number of steel tanks and enables greater parcel selection. The wine is matured for around 18 months in oak, about half are new each vintage. Annual production is approximately 200,000 bottles and the second wine is called Blason d'Issan
