The 17.5 hectare property was purchased by the Crédit Foncier bank in 1991 and following the appointment of Vincent Pirou as Director they have invested heavily in the vineyard and the cellar; undertaking soil draining, a replanting programme with clone massal selection for Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes, which currently represent 70 and 30 of plantings respectively. Since 1992 crop-thinning has been practiced to maintain lower yields and this has been reflected in the improving quality of the wines. The average age of the vines is 35 years. The grapes are hand-harvested and following sorting, are destemmed, lightly crushed and undergo a period of cold soak. Fermentation takes place in steel vats with natural yeasts. The wines are aged for up to twenty four months in oak barrels, of which 60 are new. Annual production is approximately 80,000 bottles, and a second wine called Benjamin de Beauregard is also produced.
