ParcelWineBuyers from within the EU: VAT payable … Read more CHATEAU HAUT-BATAILLEY Château Batailley was divided in the 1940s, with the smaller part, Haut-Batailley, going to François Borie. Following his death in 1953, the property passed to his daughter Françoise de Brest-Borie. The estate is still owned by the Borie family, and managed by François-Xavier Borie who is also responsible for Grand-Puy-Lacoste. The 22 hectare estate is located in the south of the Pauillac commune, and the vineyards are planted with 65 Cabernet Sauvignon 25 Merlot, and 10 Cabernet Franc. The vineyards lie on deep gravel beds over limestone. Grapes are hand-harvested, de-stemmed and fermented in stainless steel with temperature control. The Grand Vin is aged for up to 20 months in wood using up to 40 new oak each vintage. Annual production is approximately 120,000 bottles and the second wine is called La Tour d'Aspic
