Convex, finely painted, applied with foil and enameled with a cavalier astride a white horse, his sword and equipage enriched in gilt, a sepia and gold painted village in the distance, the crowned Bourbon coat-of-arms above, identified on a paper label as after A.L. Floquet

Delforge was awarded a gold medal for his work in enamels in 1884 and was much admired for his plaques. He is known to have collaborated with Theodore Leroy and in 1885 they were respectively awarded a silver or gold medal for their work.
