A SOUTH ITALIAN RED-FIGURE LEKANIS AND LID
CIRCA LATE 4TH CENTURY B.C.
The lid decorated with a small funerary stele, either side the reclining figure of a draped woman holding a phiale in her left hand, and a crouching figure of Eros with large wings outstretched behind, fillet and crossed circle in the field, a double palmette on the knob, a band of wave pattern on the rim, vertical lines on the body between the handles, details in added white
