Dynasty XVIII canopic jars were usually surmounted by human heads and the protection formula also tended to become standardized during this period. The god Hapy, later represented with a baboon head, is the protector of lungs and is himself protected by Nephthys, the goddess of the East. The title of the owner indicates a probable Theban provenance.
