A LURISTAN SILVERED BRONZE OPENWORK PIN TERMINAL
EARLY 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C.
The square-shaped terminal with central ibex head and rope-work border, 2¼ x 2 in. (5.7 x 5 cm.); a bronze 'Master-of-Animals' finial, 7½ in. (19 cm.) high; another bronze finial with confronting felines, 5 in. (12.5 cm.) high; a penannular iron bracelet with three ribs, each with bronze lion head terminals, 3¼ in. (8.2 cm.) wide; another bronze bracelet with overlapping ram head terminals, 3½ in. (9 cm.) wide, all early 1st millennium B.C.; a Luristan bronze axe-head with four butt-spikes, 9 in. (23 cm.) long; a bronze adze-axe head with blades at right angles, 7½ in. (19 cm.) long; a group of North-West Persian bronze swords and daggers including two daggers with recessed pommels for inlay (now missing) and another with crescentic guard, the blade with pronounced midrib, 21 in. (53.2 cm.) long max., all late 2nd/early 1st millennium B.C.; and a bronze handle with openwork disc head, the flattened shaft with incised and dotted decoration, with leaf-shaped knobbed terminal, possibly circa 11th-12th Century A.D., 18 in.
