Lot Essay

These mirrored consoles are closely related but not identical in design to an original model produced in 1934 by Serge Roche, one of the most dazzlingly original and iconic designers of the 1930's and 1940's. One is illustrated in P. Mauriès, Serge Roche, Paris, 2006, pp. 79 and 159.
